IRS Defers Application of Nondiscrimination Rules for Insured Group Health Plans.

On December 22, 2010, the Internal Revenue Service issued Notice 2011-01 delaying the effective date of the new Health Care Reform’s requirements that insured health plans meet the same nondiscrimination rules that apply to self-funded plans under Section 105(h).

This is great news in that you can once again begin to market Executive Edge!!! And, since we have no way of knowing how long this window of opportunity will be open, you should begin marketing the plan to all of your clients and prospects right now!!

More likely than not, further guidance will be issued sometime in 2011, which will likely set up another “grandfathering” provision at some point in 2012 or beyond. The bottom line is, your clients have been just handed an incredible opportunity to take advantage of this wonderful benefit again.

Don’t wait!! Contact all of your clients and prospects - as well as any of your partner colleagues in the industry - and let them know that now is the time to enroll in Executive Edge.

Testimonial

I view this as an incredible opportunity for all of my clients and prospects. Business owners and executives have so few tax advantages any more, so they are excited when I bring Executive Edge and all of its benefits to them. Not only is it a tremendous door opener with prospects, it also shuts the door on other brokers with my current clients.

I’ve always found that if you can develop a relationship with the most senior people at an organization, your chances for a broad and long-lasting relationship increases exponentially.
